NBAA announces the all NEW Red, White & Blue Divisions!
More Chances then ever to win with NBAA!
NEW – for the 2008 season NBAA announces the introduction of the Red, White and Blue divisions. NBAA will still fish all of the current Overtime and Weekend Challenge events along with a few new ones but there is a new twist.
With the old system NBAA had in place you could have qualified for the Overtime or Weekend Challenge Championships during our regular season. Then if your team is fortunate enough at the National Championship to qualify for the Ultimate Championship you might get to fish another day.
This season that is going to change, we’re revamping and overhauling the current system. The new system will allow all anglers a better chance at THREE National Championships than ever before. With smaller fields and more championships you’ll have a better chance then ever to win at one of these National Championship events.
Here is how it works. Each Overtime and Weekend Challenge Division will be assigned a color: Red, White or Blue. If you fish in a division that is assigned a RED color and qualify for the championship you’ll fish in the Red National Championship. Same as if you fish in a WHITE or BLUE division you’ll qualify for those National Championship days. NBAA will do its best to split up the divisions Red, White & Blue so everyone will have a chance to fish in all three divisions. There may be some overlap of colors in certain areas or a certain color may not be available in your area. Please contact NBAA and let them know if a division is needed in your area.
Many anglers through the old system qualified for two National Championships, now it’s available to qualify for all 3 before you even leave home. There will be no more guessing or hoping you make it the 3rd day you’ll know before you leave what championships and what days you’ll be fishing.
Here are a few of the changes you’ll notice with this new system.
- Rather than one (1) large Overtime Championship and a smaller Weekend Championship, there will be three (3) Championship days with roughly an equal number of boats – probably around 150 boats.
- There will be no more drawing for the boat in the Overtime Championship – All three days competitors will be fishing for 1st place and a boat each day.
- Weigh ins will be faster with this new format.
- There will be only ONE registration for all three events – no more second registration for the Ultimate Championship and Lunker Shootout.
- Same as before point champions will get the lower boat take off numbers followed by qualifiers than wildcards.
- The Championships will fish in 3 consecutive days with the Red Championship being first, White being second and the Blue fishing the third day.
- Make sure to check the website at www.nbaa-bass.com for the latest updates and to see what color divisions you’ll be fishing in 2008.
