Tough Bite at Coldwater for final Super Qualifier!

August 4th was the last of the 1 on 1 Super Qualifiers held on Coldwater Lake in Coldwater, MI. 17 anglers showed up for this challenging event, including our very own BFL winner Doug Tucker. Of the 17 anglers, two of them were on their 3rd event, Tom Sokolwski and Brian Ward. These two along with 3 others from the Eastside took on the challenge that was given out on a forum board to show off their individual angling skills.

Well the fishing was a tough one on this muggy day, but the winner, who by the way is from the Eastside, showed up everyone including a large group of local anglers. That winner was Mike Oberski with a sack of 5 fish weighing in at 8.29 lbs and the only limit brought to the scales on this tough day of fishing. 2nd place went to Jim Parker with 3 fish at 5.25 lbs, and rounding out the top 3 was Rob Miller Jr with 3 fish for 5.19 lbs. Big Bass award went to Doug Tucker with the awesome weight of 2.99.

The One on One overall point’s champion, Tom Sokolwski, had a very hard time finding fish. While choosing to stay on Coldwater Lake, he ran out the charge to his trolling motor circling the lake twice. Even though he did not have a fish to weigh in, he had enough points to cover his overall spot at the top and edge out his team partner Brian Ward by 8 points.
