G3 Top 300 Champions – Watts & Mangus!

Over 60 anglers came out for the G3 Top 300 Championship at Coldwater Lake last weekend. Despite the cold weather and construction on a bridge that shut off nearly half the chain of lakes the anglers toughed it out and put in a hard day of fishing. After the scales closed it was clear that it was in fact a tough day of fishing for most teams. However the first place team of Don Watts and Greg Mangus were fortunate enough to find a great bag of largemouth’s that topped the scales at 13.38 lbs which would top second place by nearly 4 pounds.

Don and Greg caught 6 keepers all day long and had their best 5 by 8:00 am. For their victory in the G3 Top 300 Greg and Don won a prize package worth over $5000. The prize package included a new G3 boat and trailer sponsored by G3; it also included a Minn Kota trolling motor, Humminbird graph, Minn Kota Battery, Aqua-Vu camera and a special sponsor prize package. Not only did this team win a great prize package but since they were fishing out of a new Skeeter boat they also took home an extra $3000 in Skeeter Real Money for their efforts.

Second place honors went to the team of Jason Keller and Jim Campbell with the only other limit weighing in at 9.86 pounds. Then rounding out the top 3 was the team of Dale Steward and Marvin Jacks with a weight of 6.26 lbs. Taking big bass honors with a nice Coldwater Lake smallmouth that weighed in at 3.81 lbs was the team of Ken Chesser and Ryan Olson.

After the weigh in there was a free raffle and tons of prizes were given away from our sponsors which included Minn Kota, Gamma Line, Al & Bobs Sports, Bass Pro Shops, Please Release Me, Yamaha, Solar Bat, Scent-Lok, Auto Value and more.
