Procko & Hansen Win Super Bass!
Anglers come out despite the weather!
The weather for the 2007 Michigan Super Bass sponsored by NBAA and BBT was terrible to say the least. With winds gusting to 30 mph and rain starting at registration and lasting most of the morning this made for an extremely tough day of fishing. Shortly before noon the rain finally subsided but the winds stayed making fishing tough and the main lake rough and treacherous.
However the fishermen held strong and came through with some great weights despite the conditions. Leading the pack and taking first place honors was the team of Dan Procko and Jason Hansen. Dan & Jason’s limit of fish weighed in at 15.81 pounds beating out second place by almost a pound. Second place was the team of Don Watts & Jack Horning with 14.50 pounds anchored by a 4.98 lb smallmouth. Rounding out the top three was the team of Mark Snyder and Trenton Withrow with 14.12 pounds. Big Bass honors went to the team of Darrell Barnett and Mike Hurtle with a giant largemouth tipping the scales at 5.46 pounds.
We would like to thank all of our sponsors for helping make this event possible and donating tons of prizes for the raffle. A special thanks goes out to the Muskegon Cub Scouts who showed up and cooked some great hot dogs. Last but not least we would like to thank all the fishermen that put up with the less than desirable conditions and put in a great day of fishing.
